Arcadian Tree

Arcadian Tree was a painting I developed from a pen and ink sketch I drew on a blazing summer day at Lake Arcadia in Edmond. It was the first year an art show had been added to a renowned banjo festival -- and people just walked past us and looked at us, as if at an interesting curiosity! A few crafts sold, and I bought a painting from a friend, but, as far as I know, the artists didn't make any sales. I guess you can tell by now that I love trees, and this one, just across the road from our show, caught my attention. I added the livestock later in the painting; the sketch (on my blog) doesn't have them.

Oil, 8" x 10." Two-inch flat gold-leafed frame.
