Collateral Damage

I painted this in the early '70s. It's a Cambodian child who had run for protection from one army or another during the expanded Vietnam war. I don't know whether it's a boy or girl, and to me, it doesn't matter. It's a child, stripped of parents, family, and even clothing, caught up in violence and finally reaching shadow and shelter.

Oil, 18" x 24." 1.5 inch medium-toned wooden frame.
