Lady in Red
Inspired by the expression of attitude in this model, I wanted her to look independent and intellectual, as well as bring out her natural strawberry blonde beauty. I brought in the books for an inward studious look, and the cat for the soft delicacy of a purr. She already had a rose iin her hair, and I echoed the rose on her dress and behind her. I thought of calling it "Beauty with brains, claws and thorns." An article I read about how the Renaissance artists achieved their vibrant reds with silicon made me experiment with a heavy texturizing medium for the bright red of the dress. I think it worked!
