A Summer Boy
I enjoyed doing this commissioned portrait so very much. He was a four-year-old ball of energy, and I think you can see the energy contained in the stop-action pose. He's on that verge between toddler and schoolboy, full of the love of life and laughter. It was also fun painting the background with quick brush-strokes, and ending up with what looks to be an accidental bird above his left shoulder!
